Welcome to the New York Alumnae Chapter (NYAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
New York Alumnae Chapter (NYAC) is The First Graduate Chapter chartered in New York City in 1921.
Since 1921, our chapter has remained steadfast in its commitment to transforming communities through service, advocacy, education, and leadership. Serving Manhattan, river to river, south of 155th Street, we proudly continue a legacy built on the vision of our 22 Founders and strengthened by generations of dynamic women dedicated to making a difference.
Today, more than 185 accomplished and passionate members bring their talents, experiences, and voices together in pursuit of a common purpose: to uplift our communities and create opportunities that empower current and future generations. Guided by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated's Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, our work is rooted in the belief that meaningful, sustainable change begins with service and grows through collaboration.
Whether we are investing in educational excellence through scholarships, advancing health and wellness initiatives, advocating for social justice, supporting economic development, or strengthening families through community engagement, our mission remains clear—to lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and inspire hope.
We are especially proud of our enduring commitment to education. Through the generosity of our supporters and our fundraising efforts, the New York Alumnae Chapter has awarded more than 60 scholarships, including the Mary McLeod Bethune Scholarship for four-year college students. Each scholarship represents an investment in leadership, achievement, and the promise of a brighter future.
As we build upon more than a century of excellence, we recognize that our greatest impact is achieved through partnership. We welcome opportunities to collaborate with community organizations, educational institutions, businesses, and civic leaders who share our vision of creating stronger, healthier, and more equitable communities. Together, we can transform challenges into opportunities and ideas into lasting action.
