Greetings Sorors and Friends!
Welcome to the official website for New York Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. We are pleased that you have taken the time to visit our site, and hope that you become better acquainted with our chapter and the great service that we provide to our community.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1913 on the campus of Howard University by twenty-two courageous women who aspired to dedicate themselves to sisterhood, scholarship and service.
New York Alumnae Chapter (NYAC) is The First Graduate Chapter chartered in New York City in 1921. As we approach our 100th Anniversary, our membership includes over 160 women diverse in age, background, and profession. We share a common bond in sisterhood, scholarship, and public service. Through our non-profit 501(c)(3) organization funded by our events and your tax-deductible donation, we provide annual scholarships to 8 college-bound students and sustain them through their four years. Our service area spans the borough of Manhattan river-to-river south of 155th Street.
We honor our visionary Founders, celebrate our sacred sisterhood, and embark on a new century of committed public service through

Each program year, New York Alumnae Chapter successfully sponsors major projects and programs that are designed to improve and enrich the quality of life for less advantaged youth and the elderly in our community service area of Manhattan south of 155th Street between the Hudson and East Rivers.
We are also well-known for our annual fundraising events that support or public service programs and college-scholarship recipients: the Taste of Manhattan Food Event featuring Kings Who Cook in the fall and most recently the Big Hats & Brims Scholarship Brunch in the spring. Our annual May Week is a culturally enriched program that is open to the community during the month of May. We also host several additional events and activities engage and enlighten our community throughout our program year.
We encourage you to continually check our website to stay abreast of the programs and events we host throughout our service area. We also ask that you stay connected with us by joining our mailing list or following us on our social media sites for real time updates and information.
